Occupational Therapy

Kathryn (Katy) Daly is a passionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy
Assistant (COTA) with experience primarily in pediatrics and a deep commitment to
holistic, child-centered care. She holds an Associate of Science degree from the
Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Sacramento City College and has pursued
extensive continuing education to support neurodiverse populations, particularly autistic
children.
Katy’s professional experience includes working with the Davis Joint Unified School
District, focusing on preschool-aged children, and with the San Francisco Unified
School District (SFUSD) in both elementary and middle school settings. In these roles,
she has designed and implemented individualized treatment sessions that support the
development of fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, social-
emotional learning, and accommodations for accessing education. She is proficient with
handwriting programs such as Handwriting Without Tears and Size Matters.
Katy also brings unique experience as a nature-based COTA through her work with
Bearfoot OT/Outdoor Kids OT. There, she led social groups in outdoor environments
with an emphasis on sensory integration, emotional regulation, and peer interaction.
Her clinical approach is informed by specialized training in:

* Strengths-Based Autism Support (Learn, Play, Thrive)
* Interoception (Jeryl D. Benson, EdD, OTR/L, FAOTA)
* PDA-Informed Therapy (At Peace Parents)
* Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Their Impact on OT (Alison D.
Peak, LCSW, IMH-E)
* Primitive Reflex Integration (Samantha Heidenreich, OTD, MOT)
* Motor Learning for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Lisa J. Roehl,
PT, DPT & Mariah Woody, OTR/L)

Katy’s collaborative, strengths-focused, and trauma-informed approach supports the
whole child—helping them thrive in both educational and natural environments.
